Abstract: Tips and strategies to use personal and professional travel as part of your classroom. This presentation will include lesson ideas and activities to engage students in their own exploration of the world. The presenter draws from extensive experience traveling around the country and abroad, as well as experience over the summer traveling with National Geographic as a Grosvenor Teacher Fellow. Presentation topics cover geographic themes, teaching about culture, and fellowships available to secondary social studies teachers.
